How would an incomplete deck of cards affect your game play? Negatively, we're pretty sure. Not to mention, unfair.
But that's what one casino in Pennsylvania did.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course operated separate table games using a deck of cards that is one card short. How did this happen?
According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (Know more about the board at: http://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/), a seven of hearts has been damaged by an automatic shuffler at a Spanish 21 table. It was taken out of play.

About a week after that incident, something similar happened again.
A dealer at a blackjack table dropped several cards while he was shuffling. He picked up but he didn't see the jack of spades that was left in the well. It went unnoticed until it was found by another dealer 24 minutes later. In that span of time, 32 hands were played.
The violation was self-reported by the casino to the state gaming officials.
Because of this, the casino was fined $13,000. It must also pay $2,500 to the gaming control board for the costs it incurred in investigating the matter.
