How would you like your business to be advertised by the likes of Robert de Niro, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio? And with the ad directed by Martin Scorsese?
How much do you think would you spend for such an ad?
According to gossips circulating around, a Chinese casino spent a whopping $70 million for a film ad that involves the performance of the big Hollywood names we’ve just mentioned above.
The film ad titled “The Audition”, centers around De Niro and DiCaprio as themselves in a casino vying for the same role in a Scorsese film. Pitt comes in the last three minutes of the film.

For this gig, which took less than a week to shoot, the actors reportedly took $13 million each.
James Packer, an Australian magnate and one of the producers of the film ad, he confirmed he paid half for the film ad and the other half was paid by Chinese gaming mogul, Lawrence Ho.
He wouldn’t confirm the eight-digit figure though.
“I’m not saying it…[but] if the numbers are quoted right and it’s over three years and [you] divide it by two, it’s 11 bucks a year for the best marketing campaign in the history of the world…All of a sudden, it’s not so much…it depends on how you…look at it,” Packer explained.
For the opening night of the $3.2 billion Hollywood-themed casino resort in Macau, Melco Crown Entertainment, DiCapio, De Niro and Scorsese were present.
After the red-carpet event, the film was then shown in the resort’s 5,000 seat capacity theater.
The script of “The Audition” was written by Terrence Winter who also wrote “Wolf of Wall Street.” (Read his biography at: http://www.biography.com/people/terence-winter-21438745)
